more than just form

CD TabShelf

Die Archivierung von CDs stellte sich für mich als besonderes Problem im  Bereich homeOffice heraus. Bei meinem Entwurf ging es mir dabei nicht um eine weitere ästhetisierte Variante eines Präsentationsmöbels für die gesammelten Daten-Werke. Sondern vielmehr um eine funktionale Lösung, die eine maximale Anzahl von CDs möglichst übersichtlich und einfach zugänglich macht und dabei auch raumökonomisch unterzubringen vermag.

Durch die Nutzung der dem Material eigenen Spannkraft wird die CD durch Laschen auf eine »Karteikarte« geklemmt. Verschiedene Farben lassen die Medien kategorisch einordnen.

The material polypropylen-foil was given. The archiving of CD‘s was exposed as an particular problem in the area of homeOffice. My design was not aiming towards another variant of a presentation furniture for the collected data-works. Furthermore it should represent a functional solution, which is able to store a maximum number of CD‘s space-ecological, clearly and accesible.

Using the materials own attribute of tonicity the CD is clamped on a »Index Card«. Several colors help to categorize the different data.

デザイン習作、「意匠と技法」では「モノをどこに置くか？」という問いを解決することが課題でした。素材はポリプロピレンシートを使用することが、条件にありました。

ホームオフィスの環境の中、CDの収納が、特に大きな問題として浮かび上がって来ました。このデザインでの重要な点は、メディアを美しく見せることではなく、いかに機能的に多数のCDを効率よく収納し、見通しよく整頓できることにあります。

素材本来の弾力性を利用し、カード状のシートのツメにCDを挟みます。メディアのカテゴリー別に色分けして整頓することができます。
